Naila N. Robinson

Naila Robinson received her Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University in 2010, where she earned several recognitions, including a first place award in the Black Women Lawyer’s Association 2010 Essay competition, the Consumer Protection Award for highest overall ranking in Consumer Protection, and Julius & Norma Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Naila also earned the distinction of a judicial clerkship in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Illinois. 

Prior to attending law school, Naila was employed as a family law paralegal with Kamerlink, Stark, Powers & McNicholas, LLC, and a bankruptcy/collection paralegal. Naila’s extensive experience communicating with clients in various contexts gives her a unique perspective on handling sensitive issues with care and personal attention.

Naila received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. While completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a journalist with several media outlets, including CNN, The New York Times, NBC and Fox affiliates.

Naila has a strong sense of community. She organized Haitian relief efforts at Southern Illinois University School of Law after the 2010 earthquake disaster. Naila volunteered on a Native American Reservation in Zuni, New Mexico, and facilitated programs to encourage low-income children to pursue a college education. Naila has also studied abroad in Ireland and Mexico, where she learned conversational Spanish.

Naila was licensed to practice law in 2010. She is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
